“For me, art is the experience of what you've felt inside”. —Abbas Kiarostami
about
The ecstatic experience is, for us, at the very heart of cinema: a profound and far-reaching emotion stemming from imagination, art, and engaging with others. It is that moment when a work discloses the unseen and connects the viewer to something greater, transformative, and mutually shared.
Barcelona-based Extática Cine aims to spread the zeal to create films. We seek to tap into the alchemy of creation, leading unique collaborative experiences guided by renowned film masters who inspire unprecedented visions in young talents.
We are committed to fostering their development and supporting them in creating authentic works that unveil new layers of reality and imagination related to the local area, its people and culture.
“There are deeper strata of truth in cinema, and there is such a thing as poetic, ecstatic truth. It is mysterious and elusive, and can be reached only through fabrication and imagination and stylization.” —Werner Herzog
We believe in a cinema arising from the poetic precept of the imagined casting light on the experienced. We do not film facts; we film experiences. Every story is a transforming journey, a revealing encounter.
